What we keep, and what we never collect
Revised 2 November 2026
The short version of our data practice
Maplefrostarcade is built to be read, not to collect. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no comment sections. We do not run analytics, advertising trackers or profiling of any kind. Very little about you ever reaches us, and what does is described below.
This policy follows the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Your shortlist stays in your browser
When you tap the heart on a game, that choice is saved in your browser’s localStorage, a small storage area on your own device. It is never sent to us, and we have no way to see it.
If you share your shortlist as a link, the list travels inside that link. Only the people you send it to will see it.
Clearing your browser data removes the shortlist completely.
The cookie notice and your answer
The first time you visit, a short notice asks you to confirm how the site may use storage. Your answer is saved in localStorage in your own browser so the notice does not reappear on every page.
That answer is also never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the notice will simply appear again on your next visit.
Typefaces fetched from Google Fonts
Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens whenever a site requests a file from another server.
Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from Google about you as a result.
Letters you send the desk
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use that only to read and reply to you.
We keep emails only as long as we need them to answer and follow up on a correction, and we never add your address to a mailing list or pass it to anyone else.
When you follow a play button
Play buttons open the official website of each game in a new tab. Once you are there, the publisher’s own privacy policy covers what it collects, including anything you enter to create an account or play.
We recommend reading those policies before you register for any game, since each publisher handles data in its own way.
Your rights and who to ask
Under PIPEDA you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In practice, the only personal information we might hold is an email you sent us. Write to [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
